How much does delivery cost?

Delivery is charged on the road distance from our yard in Everton, Sandy. It is £50.00 to anywhere within 25 miles of the yard, £60.00 up to 35 miles and £100.00 up to 40 miles. Beyond 40 miles delivery is priced on request. All delivery prices exclude VAT.

Do you offer free delivery?

Yes. Delivery is free on orders of 8 tonnes or more to addresses within 11 miles of our yard in Everton, Sandy. That covers Sandy, Biggleswade, St Neots and the surrounding villages. Outside 11 miles the standard delivery charge applies regardless of order size.

Do you deliver to Bedford?

Yes. Bedford is between 13 and 15 road miles from our yard depending on the postcode, so it does not qualify for free delivery. Delivery to Bedford is £50.00 ex VAT, the same charge that applies anywhere within 25 miles of the yard. Enter your Bedford postcode into our estimate tool for the exact charge.

The minimum order for collection from our yard is 1 tonne. There is no minimum for delivered orders, though orders of 8 tonnes or more qualify for free delivery within 11 miles.

How far do you travel?

We deliver at fixed prices up to 40 miles from our yard in Everton, Sandy. Beyond that we still take the work, but delivery is priced on request rather than at a set rate. Our grab and tipper lorries work up to around 35 miles from the yard.

How much do aggregates cost?

Loose aggregates start at £16.00 per tonne for 6F2, excluding VAT and delivery. Bagged materials in tonne bags start at £33.00 per bag. Full prices for every material are listed on our pricing page, and our online tool gives an instant estimate including delivery.

Are your prices including VAT?

All prices shown on our website exclude VAT. VAT is charged at 20 percent and is shown separately in every estimate, so you can see both figures before you commit.

How do I get a price?

Accepted Answer

Use the online estimate tool on our website. Choose your material and quantity, enter your delivery postcode, and it gives an indicative price immediately. You can add several materials to one estimate, for example 10 tonnes of Type 1 MOT plus 5 tonnes of sharp sand. Is the online estimate a fixed price?

No. The online tool gives an indicative estimate, not a confirmed booking. A member of our team confirms the final price and the delivery or collection slot when they call you back. This is because access, ground conditions and timing can affect what a job actually requires.

How do I place an order?

Submit a request through the online estimate tool or call 01767 691115. We do not currently take bookings or payment online. Every order is confirmed by phone with a member of our team, who will arrange the delivery or collection slot with you directly.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a booked slot are subject to a £100 cancellation fee. Cancelling with more than 24 hours notice is free of charge.

What aggregates do you supply?

We supply 10mm Gravel, 20mm Gravel, Ballast, Building Sand, Fill Sand, Recycled MOT, Type 1 MOT, Sharp Sand, Plainings, 6F2, Top Soil. These are sold loose by the tonne and delivered, or collected from our yard.

Yes. We supply 13 materials in tonne bags, including sharp sand, ballast, gravel, topsoil and MOT type 1. Bagged materials are collection only from our yard at Everton, Sandy. We do not deliver bagged materials.

What is the difference between loose and bagged materials?

Loose materials are tipped from the lorry and sold by the tonne, and we deliver them. Bagged materials come in tonne bags and are collection only from our yard. Loose is usually cheaper per tonne; bags are easier to handle and store on site.

What is MOT Type 1 used for?

MOT Type 1 is a crushed stone sub-base used under driveways, patios, roads and car parks. It compacts to form a solid, load-bearing layer. We supply both granite MOT Type 1 and a recycled equivalent, which costs less and works well for most domestic applications.

Yes. We produce recycled aggregates at our own permitted facility, including recycled MOT and 6F2 crushed concrete. Recycled materials cost less than quarried stone and reduce the amount of material going to landfill.

Grab hire is a waste removal service using a lorry fitted with a hydraulic grab arm. The driver loads waste directly from your site without anyone needing to load it by hand. A grab lorry carries up to 16 tonnes, which is roughly equivalent to several skips, and loads in minutes rather than hours.

A skip sits on your site and you load it yourself. A grab lorry arrives, loads the waste with its own hydraulic arm and leaves, usually within the hour. Grab hire suits larger volumes and loose material such as soil, rubble and hardcore. Skips suit smaller jobs where you need to fill the container over several days.

What is the difference between grab hire and tipper hire?

A grab lorry has a hydraulic arm and loads material itself, so it suits collecting waste from site. A tipper lorry has no arm and must be loaded by an excavator or loading shovel, so it suits moving bulk material where you already have plant on site. Tipper hire is generally cheaper where you can load it yourself.

How much waste can a grab lorry hold?

A grab lorry holds up to 16 tonnes, depending on the material and the lorry. As a rough guide that is equivalent to around three to four builders skips, removed in a single visit.

Most grab hire collections take under an hour on site. Smaller jobs are often completed within a few hours from arrival to disposal, while larger projects needing several loads may take a full day or more.

What is muck away?

Muck away is the removal of excavated soil, spoil and hardcore from a construction or landscaping site. We collect the material, transport it to our permitted facility and process it, recycling what we can rather than sending it to landfill.

Screenable Soil costs £30.00 per tonne, Green Waste costs £60.00 per tonne, Clean Hardcore is free, all excluding VAT. All material brought to site is documented for Environment Agency compliance.

What types of waste can you collect?

We collect soil, rubble, hardcore, concrete, green waste, timber and general construction and demolition waste. We cannot take hazardous waste, asbestos, chemicals, liquids or electrical items. If you are unsure about a particular material, call us on 01767 691115 before booking.

Material is taken to our permitted facility at Tempsford, where it is sorted and processed. Soil is screened and recovered, and hardcore and concrete are crushed to produce recycled aggregates, which we then sell. Recycling on our own site means less material goes to landfill and keeps our recycled aggregate prices down.
